Amy J. Beakley is a transactional attorney with a broad range of business, legal, and governmental experience in a wide array of industries. Her experience includes counseling and assisting clients with intellectual property needs in the areas of trademark and copyright, including trademark searches, trademark preparation and filing, trademark prosecution, trademark assignments, responses to Oppositions, negotiations with third parties involving trademark rights, maintenance documents for registered marks, copyright registrations, and portfolio management. She also develops strategies for managing client trademark portfolios that includes monitoring the use, misuse, and infringement of the marks, as well as negotiating license agreements with third parties for permitted use of a mark.
Ms. Beakley also advises and counsels business clients in franchise, corporate, employer representation, and estate planning matters. Her personal business experience, particularly in the field of franchising, is instrumental for both franchisor and franchisee planning and development, and allows her to bring a practical perspective to both start-up and established companies. She regularly counsels clients in matters of business structure and continued corporate governance compliance, as well as drafting and negotiating contracts, including franchise agreements purchase agreements, and buy/sell agreements. Ms. Beakley serves as general counsel for clients in a variety of industries.
